Wasola man injured in Douglas County crash; Seymour woman killed

     An Ozark County man was injured in a two-vehicle crash leading to one death and two other Missouri residents injured. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 45-year-old Michael Gardner of Wasola suffered minor injuries Friday morning in Douglas County.
     Gardner was driving northbound on Highway 5 approximately five miles north of Ava when a southbound vehicle driven by 51-year-old Nancy Davolt of Mountain Grove lost control, traveled across the center line and was struck in the passenger side by Gardner's vehicle. Davolt was flown by helicopter to Cox Medical Center South in Springfield with what were described as serious injuries, and her passenger, 59-year-old Deborah Emerson of Seymour, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardner and his passenger, 42-year-old Heather Craig, were transported by ambulance to Cox Medical Center South with minor injuries.
     Gardner's vehicle had extensive damage in the 6:35 a.m. accident. Davolt's car was totaled.
