Dominic Anthony Swingle of Mountain Home appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered a plea of not guilty to aggravated assault charges stemming from an incident late last month in which an intoxicated Swingle is alleged to have threatened a number of people with a knife.

The 24-year-old Swingle was reported to have arrived at a residence along County Road 989 in an intoxicated state on December 29th and began acting aggressively toward people in the house. He is alleged to have swung a knife at two of the people.

At one point, Swingle and the victims all left the residence. When the victims returned, they found Swingle passed out in the kitchen with blood around him and the Sheriff’s Office was called.

A Baxter County Sheriff’s Deputy arrived at the residence in answer to the disturbance call just before 9 p.m. where he located Swingle in the kitchen and found that he had a large cut on his right hand. Swingle was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center by ambulance where he was treated for his injury.

Swingle told investigators that he had cut himself when he stabbed a tree with his knife.
