Ash Flat mother arrested after newborn tests positive for drugs

     An Ash Flat mother has been arrested on felony charges when her newborn baby tested positive for methamphetamine and other controlled substances shortly after birth. Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence says 33 year old Lindsey D. Gilbreath is charged with introducing a controlled substance into the body of another person. She is being held in the Izard County jail with bond set at $10,000.

     The sheriff says the child began suffering withdrawal symptoms shortly after it was born.
