It is possible Wednesday could break the record high low of 60 degrees set on the 11th in 2013. The record low temperatures recorded on January 10 and 11 in Mountain Home occurred in 1962 when a low of 9 degrees was recorded on the 10th and 10 degrees on the 11th.

Clarke says local residents should enjoy the springlike weather while it lasts, because change is coming.

With the lower temperatures will come rain, but Clarke says the freezing rain and ice predicted for Missouri will stay north of the state line. Low temperatures predicted for the Twin Lakes Area are will be in the mid 30’s.

The National Weather Service Office in Springfield says colder temperatures and rain will bring the change of freezing precipitation to south central Missouri Thursday night.
