Shoplifting investigation leads to arrest of Flippin woman on drug charges

     A Flippin woman was arrested on felony drug charges by Mountain Home Police Wednesday following an investigation into a shoplifting complaint from a local business. Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says 47 year old Jeannie A. Summitt is charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting. She is being held in the Baxter County jail with bond set at $3,500.

     According to the police chief, officers arrived on the scene and quickly located the woman reported to have left the business with stolen items and which she placed in her vehicle. When question by police, Summit admitted to the theft and was placed under arrest. During a search of her vehicle other items, suspected to have been stolen from three other local businesses, were recovered with a substance suspected to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

     The value of the stolen items was nearly $550, according to Chief Manuel.
