Medicare reimbursements to Baxter Regional Medical Center are not coming back to the hospital as quickly as anticipated, according to Chief Executive Officer Ron Peterson. He says approximately 67 percent of payments BRMC receives are from Medicare. When the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, was established the hospital projected a $40 million decrease in reimbursements over 8 years. Baxter Regional is over that projected amount and the Affordable Health Care Act has been in place for less than eight years.

Pederson says, in a recent interview on KTLO, Classic Hits and The Boot’s Local Matters, he’s ready for change with the anticipated repeal of the ACA.
