Four Baxter County residents were arrested by the Baxter County Sheriff Tuesday morning on multiple felony drug charges following a joint investigation prompted by a citizen’s tip. Baxter County Sheriff says 50 year old Steven Dennis Dixon and Amanda Elizabeth Estes, both of rural Mountain Home and 56 year old Brenda Lynn Barnes and 41 year old Kenneth Wayne Amerson of Mountain Home are each charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia as well as various related misdemeanor charges. Dixon also received a penalty enhancement as a habitual offender. His bond has been set at $15,000 and bond for the other three is set at $10,000. All four are being held in the Baxter County jail.

A 16 year old juvenile was also taken into custody with the four adults for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff. The youth was turned over to the Baxter County Juvenile Services.

Sheriff Montgomery says the citizen told law enforcement a person they wanted for questioning related to a theft investigation could be located at a residence on 252 Cochran Drive in rural Mountain Home, the residence of Dixon, who is on probation and has an active search waiver on file. Officers from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Mountain Home Police Department, and 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force followed up on the lead.

When officers arrived at the residence a female, identified as Barnes, refused to open the door to allow officers inside. Officers observed others inside the residence attempting to hide. After several minutes, they were allowed entry. Barnes stated she and a 16 year old juvenile were the only ones in the house.

After searching officers found Dixon, Estes, and Amerson hiding in an attached garage. A search of the residence uncovered a variety of drugs as well including around 15 grams of methamphetamine, approximately two ounces of marijuana, about nine tablets identified as Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, multiple loaded and used syringes and multiple sets of digital scales. Other paraphernalia including smoking devices, torches, and baggies used for packaging were recovered. In total, more than 40 unique items of evidence were seized from the residence, including a quantity of cash.

Steven Dennis Dixon, Amanda Elizabeth Estes, Brenda Lynn Barnes and Kenneth Wayne Amerson are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on January 26th.
