(AP) – Authorities say a woman has been found dead inside her
cell at the Pulaski County jail.
Lt. Cody Burk said Thursday 22-year-old Trillus Smith was pronounced dead
after being found unresponsive in the cell on Wednesday.
Burk says Smith was alone in the cell and there were no signs of trauma to her
body, which was sent to the state medical examiner's office to determine the
cause of death.
Smith had been arrested Feb. 2 at Baptist Health Medical Center for battery,
aggravated assault and criminal mischief after allegedly attacking an off-duty
officer and hospital security personnel.
