A former Mountian Home High School football coach has died. Funeral services for Howard Cissell will be Saturday afternoon in his hometown of Osceola.
Cissell coached one year at Mountain Home, going 5-4-1 in 1959. He followed Don Dempsey as Mountain Home football coach and was replaced by Don Riggs.
Cissell, who played college football at Arkansas State and professionally with the Baltimore Colts and the Montreal Alouettes, moved into coaching at the college level after Mountain Home and spent many years at the University of Iowa.
