High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule.
Regional tournaments will be in semifinal action throughout Arkansas.
The Class 1A Region 2 Tournament will continue at the Harold Ray Jeffrey Gymnasium in Calico Rock. In girls’ action, Izard County tips off at four p.m. against Bay, and Norfork faces Maynard at 7:00. Izard County’s boys meet Ridgefield Christian at 8:30.
The Class 1A Region 1 Tournament resumes at Omaha as the host teams play a doubleheader against Jasper. The girls’ game is scheduled for 7:00 followed by the boys’ contest.
The semifinals of the Class 3A Region 3 Tournament at Riverside High School in Lake City includes a pair of local girls’ teams facing each other. Mountain View and Valley Springs get underway at 4:00, and the Marshall boys take on the host Rebels at 5:30.
District play will continue in the Show Me State.
Gainesville’s girls will play for their third-straight district title. The top-seeded Lady Bulldogs will be paired with Hartville in the finals of the Class 2, District 4 Tournament at 6:00 in Sparta.
Dora’s boys will compete for the championship of the Class 1, District 4 Tournament at Bakersfield. The Falcons face the number one seed from Bradleyville at 7:00.
