MH baseball, softball teams host Vilonia at new McClain Park

Tuesday is the day for the Mountain Home High School athletic program to celebrate the opening of the new on-campus baseball/softball complex. Prior to both Bomber teams taking on Vilonia, an opening ceremony will be held at the brand new McClain Park.
The ceremony will get underway at noon, and Mountain Home athletic director Mitch Huskey says it will appear similar to a pep rally.

The Bomber baseball team will take the field later in the afternoon as they take take on the Eagles for a 6A/5A-2 district doubleheader. This will be the second game for Mountain Home on Pitts Field as they have already played a makeup game originally set to be played at Batesville. After seeing the end result, Bombers’ head coach Jim Tejcek says his team is blessed to have the new facility.

Mountain Home is currently 2-2 on the season as their last game was a loss to Har-Ber Friday at Rogers. The first pitch is scheduled for four p.m. Wednesday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.

Mountain Home’s softball team will play their very first games at Freedom Field as they also have a varsity doubleheader against Vilonia. The first game gets underway at 4:30.
