27 area athletes named to All-State basketball teams

The Arkansas Activities Association released its All-State selections from the basketball season, and 27 area athletes were named to the teams.



Mountain Home has one athlete on the Class 6A list. Vinessa Daniel represents the Lady Bombers on the girls’ team.



The Class 1A selections include 15 local high school students. The girls’ side includes Kelcy Acklin and Marleigh Dodson of Norfork, Izard County’s Kennedy Cooper, Madison Kocher of Rural Special, Paige Coffelt and Cas Yocham of Omaha, Jaclyn Goodall of Western Grove and Jasper’s Cassie Emerson and Leah Shellnut. Area boys’ selections are Logan Skaggs of Mammoth Spring, Izard County’s Justus Cooper and Taylor Reynolds, Zack Cain of Lead Hill, Garrett Matlock of Omaha and Western Grove’s Hunter Baker.



Six area athletes were picked for the Class 3A. The boys’ selections include Cameron Curtis of Yellville-Summit, Jacob Loggins of Marshall and Valley Springs’ Brandon Koch. The local girls’ selections are Cheyenne Shelton and Kaley Shipman of Mountain View and Ashlynn Taylor of Valley Springs.



One local athlete was an All-State pick in Class 2A. Kaylea Walling represents Salem on the girls’ team.



Harrison had four athletes on the Class 5A teams. The girls’ side includes Briley Due and Brylie Parker. The Goblin boys on the All-State team are Trevor Atwell and Tanner Curry.
