Mtn. Home water and sewer rates unchanged

     Rates charged to users of Mountain Home City water and sewers remains unchanged, at this time. In action taken by the Mountain Home City Council at Thursday night’s meeting, the council voted unanimously to add a section to the current water and sewer ordinances that would utilize the Consumer Price Index for the south region for water/sewer which would be used for raising rates annually based upon the CPI percentage average from the prior year. The CPI percent is to be indexed and presented to council by the first of February annually to be voted on by the Mountain Home City Council and can be accepted, modified or rejected when presented.

     The council also were in unanimous agreement to waive competitive bidding for the purchase of an aerator mixer for the city water department.

     A request for the city council to approve the creation of a bank account for American Epoxyn by Jay Stallard of the Northwest Arkansas Economic Development District was also passed unanimously.   The request, in compliance with a grant for American Epoxyn, could result in the creation of 80 new jobs at the Mountain Home facility.
