Milan Sweet of Summit, who is charged with the theft of two all terrain vehicles on the same day earlier this month, appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and entered a not guilty plea to charges against him.
The 26-year-old Sweet is charged with stealing the two ATV/RTV vehicles in the Buford area. One of the vehicles was taken from a garage and later abandoned approximately a mile from where it was taken. Later that day, the Sheriff's Office received a report from a woman who said she saw a man — later identified as Sweet — riding her father's RTV, valued at approximately $10,0000. The woman gave a description of the man and said she had seen him abandon the RTV and get into a car being driven by another male.
Sweet was initially arrested by the Mountain Home Police on charges unrelated to the thefts, was brought to the Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff's Office where he is alleged to have admitted to the thefts during an interview.
Sweet was ordered to reappear in Baxter County Circuit Court March 23rd.
