(AP) – An Arkansas teen has been arrested in connection with

the fatal shooting of a 42-year-old man in Pope County.

The sheriff’s office says 19-year-old Nathaniel Z. Symonds of Dover was

arrested following Friday’s fatal shooting of Ronald Dean Esserman Jr., also of

Dover. Investigators say they believe the Symonds and the victim were

acquaintances.

Authorities say Symonds faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with

Esserman’s death. Symonds is scheduled to appear before a judge on Monday

morning.

The sheriff’s office says Symonds is being held in the Pope County Detention

Center.
