Courtesy of City WineryAcclaimed songwriter Jimmy Webb will be the subject of a star-studded tribute concert scheduled to take place May 3 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

The show, dubbed “A Celebration of the Music of Jimmy Webb: The Cake and the Rain,” will feature performances by various artists who have recorded Webb’s songs over the years, including Art Garfunkel, ex-Fifth Dimension members Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr., Judy Collins and Johnny Rivers.

Webb also will take part in the concert, as will Glen Campbell‘s daughter, Ashley.  Some of Campbell’s biggest hits were songs penned by Jimmy. Other artists on the lineup include country stars Toby Keith, Dwight Yoakam and Amy Grant, with more acts to be announced.

Among the many well-known Webb compositions that will be performed at the show are “Wichita Lineman,” “MacArthur Park,” “Galveston,” “Up, Up and Away,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” and “All I Know.” Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association and the I’ll Be Me Foundation in honor of Glen Campbell, who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

The event will come on the heels of the April 18 publication of a new memoir by Webb called The Cake and the Rain.

The show is being presented by City Winery, whose founder, New York entrepreneur Michael Dorf, organizes the “Music Of” series of tribute concerts held annually at Carnegie Hall. General-admission tickets go on sale Wednesday, March 22, at 9 a.m. ET at MusicOf.org; VIP packages are available now.
