The Bottom Line Record CompanyA new archival live album featuring a 1980 performance by late Cream singer/bassist Jack Bruce has just been released as part of the ongoing The Bottom Line Archive series.

Jack Bruce and Friends: The Bottom Line Archive documents a May 19, 1980, show at the legendary New York City club The Bottom Line, which saw the rock legend accompanied by a number of other respected musicians.

Bruce’s backing group at the concert included ex-E Street Band keyboardist David Sancious, former Humble Pie guitarist Clem Clempson and founding Mahavishnu Orchestra drummer Billy Cobham. The show featured renditions of classic Cream songs like “White Room,” “Politician” and “Sunshine of Your Love,” as well as Bruce’s solo gem “Theme for an Imaginary Western” and the blues classic “Born Under a Bad Sign.”

The album, which is available now as a two-CD set and a digital download, is the first Bruce release since he passed away in October 2014 at age 71 from liver disease. His final studio album, Silver Rails, came out in March of that year.
