Red Cross announces blood dontation oppurtunities

The American Red Cross is in need of platelet donors and donors with type O negative and AB blood types. All eligible donors are encouraged to donate to insure a supply of blood is available to meet patient needs.A blood donor card or drivers license or two other forms of identification are needed at the check-in. Individuals who are seventeen or older (16 with parental consent), over 110 pounds and generally in good health may be eligible to donate. High school students and other donors 18 years old or younger must meet certain height and weight requirements.

Donation opportunities at the Mountain Home Blood Donation Center will be April 17th and 24th from nine to five, and April 19th and 26th from ten to five and April 20th, 21st, 23rd, 27th, 28th and 30th from eight to three. The donation center is located at 1041 Highland Circle, Suite 22.

Donations can also be made at The St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church located at 249 Dyer Street in Mountain Home from 1 to 6 on April 18.

Donation opportunities in Marion County will be the Yellville First United Methodist Church Wednesday from 2:30 to six and at Flippin High School April 28th from 8:30 to 1:30.

Donation opportunities in Boone County include the Alpena School District April 25th from 8:30 to 1:30 and the Lead Hill School District April 28th from 1 to 6.

Donation opportunities at Izard County High School in Brockwell will be April 26th from nine to 2:30.

Donation opportunities in Searcy County include Marshall High School Monday from 8:30 to 2:30 and St. Joe High School April 25 from 9:30 to two.

Blood donors can also now save time at their next donation by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of the donation, prior to donating blood. To get started or learn more, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.
