The Adult Education Center serving Baxter County will move to the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home on July 1. While ASUMH has operated Adult Education previously, this is the first time for the center to be on the campus. ASUMH Chancellor Dr. Robin Myers says the change will also include the college assuming the operation of the Marion County Adult Education Center.

Specifically, the Baxter County Adult Education Center will relocate to the second floor of Roller Hall.

Myers says the state’s restructuring of Adult Education led to ASUMH expanding its role into Marion County.

Myers says the Marion County Adult Education Center will remain in its current location on the Yellville Courthouse square.

With the Adult Education services moving under the operation of ASUMH, Myers said new services are also coming.

Myers also says having the Baxter County Adult Education Center on the ASUMH campus is particulary important for those students completing their G-E-D. He says this creates a natural progression for these students to continue into higher education once they become familiar with the college campus.
