An investigation into a February report of possible child abuse in Boone County has led to the arrest of 58-year-old Diana Higgins of Marion County. According to Boone County Sheriff Mike Moore, On February ninth the Boone County Sheriffs Department was contacted regarding a 14-year-old child, who requires total care and is dependent on a chronic ventilator, who was possibly being abused by one of the childs in-home care nurses.Further investigation by the Boone County Sheriffs Department resulted in felony charges for endangering the welfare of an incompetent person in the first degree being filed against Higgins. She was arrested at the Boone County Sheriffs Department Wednesday, after turning herself in on the outstanding warrant. Higgins was booked into the Boone County Jail and released after posting a $10,000 bond.
