In an amended agenda for Thursday’s Mountain Home City Council meeting a resolution to apply for a federal grant to build recreational trails unanimously passed. The City would have to match 20 percent of the funds received from the grant to start building trails at McCabe Park. According to City Clerk Brian Plumlee, it’s possible some of the matching funds could come from in-kind donations.Other items passed in Thursday’s meeting include an ordinance to waive competitive bidding, allowing the City’s authorization to receive bids and purchase two trucks locally and a routine amendment to an ordinance permitting municipal employees and officials to conduct business in Mountain Home for Legislative Audit purposes.

Under new business Fire Chief Ken Williams discussed the disposal of hazmat inventory and Cemetery Board appointments were made to include a representative from each funeral home in the city. Appointees are from Roller, Kirby and Conner Family funeral homes.

The next council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 4th.
