Former Izard County Sheriff from 1979 to 1990, Jack Yancey, has been appointed by the Izard County Quorum Court to replace Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence who died April 7th, according to a Facebook post on the Izard County Sheriff’s Department page. A spokesperson from the Izard County Sheriff’s Office says Yancey is scheduled to begin duty Monday.
