A parolee compliance visit Thursday in rural Mountain Home resulted in the arrest of a Marion County man. Thirty-year-old Cody Joe Haynes of Flippin is in the Baxter County Detention Center on felony counts of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia for use of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count failure to appear. His bond is set at $2,500.

According to Baxter County Sheriff’s Investigator George Edings, the compliance visit was conducted on County Road 56 at the residence of parolee Tom Harvey. During a search, Haynes was allegedly found hiding in a closet in the front bedroom, and a background check soon revealed he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. After Haynes was placed in custody, an upside down beer can was located during the search of the bedroom, and the cup portion contained a white powder substance and a piece of fibrous material correlative of intravenous drug use. The powder field tested positive for methamphetamine, and Edings says there was enough remaining in the can to constitute at least one dosage unit.

Haynes is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court May 11th. Edings was assisted by investigators from the Mountain Home Police Department, the Arkansas State Police and the 14th Judicial District Drug Task Force.
