A four year old Harrison girl who fell from a church bus Wednesday night is recovering at a Springfield hospital and is expected to be released in a few days, according to a report from KSPR News.

The unidentified girl was seated at the back of the bus, says Harrison Police Chief Paul Woodruff. He says she opened the door and held on to the door handle, which dragged her from the bus.

A firefighter, Ryan Ciampoli, who was driving behind the bus, witnessed the event and saw the girl fall to the street pavement. She was transported to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison and later to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.
