Marion County Community Services, an all volunteer non-profit organization, was formed in 2008 to promote the general welfare of all people living in Marion County according to Marie Thompson, secretary of the organization. She says the idea to form Marion County Community Services came when a number of needs were found following a county wide health initiative. Today the group looks for ways to provide resources for those community requirements.

Marion County Community services and Marion County Partners have developed an online countywide directory of business, services, organizations and recreation. Thompson says this is not meant to compete with but rather to compliment other directories being used locally.
