ACT 1259 was passed in 2015 and permits a county employee, who has a concealed carry license to carry a concealed handgun in a county courthouse. Baxter County was the second county in the state to implement an ordinance, regarding the ACT, in 2016. It hadn’t been incorporated into the policy manual until recently. Employees have to attend a Civilian Response to Active Shooter training and qualify every year. Training is handled by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Department when a request to have the training is made.

Other revisions include establishing the role of Robb’s position and adjusting employee policy.
