Flash Floods occurring across the Twin Lakes Area

Flooding continues to cause dangerous situations for the Twin Lakes area.

For Baxter and Marion Counties flash flood warnings are in effect until 8:15 Saturday evening. A severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect for Baxter County until 8:15 Saturday evening.

A flash flood warning has been issued for Jimmie Creek at Bull Shoals. Anyone in the area is advised to leave the area immediately and seek higher ground. Water rescues are being made at this time.

According to sources, Highway 62/412 is once again open in Marion County after being closed in two different locations.

Authorities are discouraging travel if possible.

The Office of Emergency of Management in in Ozark County, is requesting all residents of Gainesville move to higher ground as well.

A water rescue was coonducted for two individuals on Route PP near Tecumseh.  Both individuals were safely rescued.

Ozark County has several road closures including Highways 160 and 5 in downtown Gainesville, Highway 101 in Bakersfield, Route J at Lick Creek, Route T at Mammoth, Highway 181 at Bryant Creek, Highway 95 from Thornfield to Theodosia and Route Z near Nottinghill.

A flash flood emergency has been issued for Ozark and Howell Counties until 10:30.

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office took reports from deputies, road and bridge personnel and the public of flooding near several roadways in the county.  The roads include County Road 10, Cannie Baker Road, Danbury Lane, Foster Street, Shipps Ferry Road, County Road 712, Highway 126 in the area of the Ozark Regional Airport, County Road 11, County Road 1, County Road 25, County Road 27, Promise Land Road and Highway 201 North in the area of the twin bridges.

Residents in Boone County should exercise caution as the road was flooded at Highway 65 South in Bellefonte by Sonic.  The waters have receded but a spokesperson from the Arkansas State Police says it is likely the area will get flooded again if another round of storms come are predicted.

Facebook posts show pictures from Gainesville at the J-Mart parking lot and the Highway 160 Pit Stop is flooded. One picture showed an ice machine floating by the area of Highway 160.

In Newton County, water was reported up to the Highway 21 bridge over the Buffalo National River near Boxley.
