Ozark County schools closed Monday following flooding


School will be closed Monday in all five Ozark County school districts, including Bakersfield, Dora, Gainesville, Lutie and Thornfield.

Five bridges in the Dora area are closed due to flood damage, according to Superintendent Steve Richards who says, with only five school days remaining in their school year, the district will determine tomorrow if and when schools will reopen this spring.

Bakersfield Superintendent, Amy Britt, says her district will also be making plans for the rest of the school year, which ends May 17th.

Two weeks of school remain in the Gainesville School District where superintendent Joe Donley says he will meet with his principals to determine when classes will resume there.

West Plains schools and Missouri State University West Plains are also closed.  Calico Rock will be in session but will not start classes until 10:00.
