MH has mixed results to end conference play

The Mountain Home High School boys’ soccer team will head into the state tournament as the champions of the 6A-East Conference Tournament. The Bombers were trailing Little Rock Hall with less than two minutes left of regulation. However, after Mountain Home scored their first goal to cut the margin in half, they later tied it up on a penalty kick with 2.4 seconds left. The game went to a penalty kick shootout, and Mountain Home came out on top 3-2. The Bombers are now 16-0 on the season, and their first game in the Class 6A State Tournament will be Friday at Siloam Springs.

The Mountain Home girls’ soccer team was also competing for the championship of the 6A-East Conference Tournament, but they came up short. The Lady Bombers fell to top-seeded Searcy 5-0. Mountain Home will begin state tournament play Friday morning.

The Mountain Home baseball team fell short of winning the 6A-East Conference Tournament. The Bombers fell to Jonesboro in the title game 8-0 at Annie Camp Junior High School.
Marshall Roberson suffered the loss as he gave up three earned runs. Mountain Home’s offense was able to come up with one base hit.
The Bombers will begin the Class 6A State Tournament Friday in Benton.

Mountain Home’s softball team came away with a fifth place finish in the 6A-East Conference Tournament. The Lady Bombers went on the road and defeated Pine Bluff 13-7.
Maly Tabor took the circle in relief to get the victory. Offensively for Mountain Home, Morgan Pierski led the way with three hits and two RBIs; Tabor provided a double and scored three runs; Grace Gilbert had a hit, a run and an RBI; Riley Walker scored two runs and drove in another; Cierra Williams finished with a hit and two runs; Alayna Rohde and Sydnie Zimmer each had base hits; Payton Huskey scored twice.
The Lady Bombers’ first game in the Class 6A State Tournament will be Thursday in Benton.
