BELLA VISTA, Ark. (AP) Crews are putting the finishing touches on a 6.4-mile stretch of the Bella Vista Bypass in northwest Arkansas.

Work began three years ago on the $52.7 million section of the bypass in Benton County. Eventually, an interchange will be built to connect the bypass to Interstate 49 in Missouri once Missouri extends its portion of the bypass to the state line.

To date, more than $128 million has been spent on the project.

Officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday to mark completion of this section, which will be open to traffic next week.
