Twenty-first Commencement at ASUMH set for Monday

Arkansas State University Mountain Home will hold its twenty-first commencement on Monday evening. The ceremony will take place at 6:30 on Keller Green in front of Roller Hall.

In the case of inclement weather, commencement will move to the Ed Coulter Performing Arts Center located at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center and seating will be limited.

The Mountain Home Symphony Orchestra will play a pre-commencement concert and begin the festivities with the processional. Joyce Lechtenberger, ASUMH Board of Visitors Chair, will deliver a welcome to graduates and guests. The invocation will be given by student Jacob Kincade. Dr. Robin Myers will present greetings, make introductions, and give special announcements.

The student address will be given by graduating student Gabriel Apple, followed by the presentation of the ASUMH class by Dr. Martin Eggensperger, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. Degrees will be conferred by Dr. Myers and Rosalyn Blagg, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Dr. Karen Wheeler, Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at ASU-Jonesboro, will present the Jonesboro class graduating on the ASUMH campus and Dr. Lynita Cooksey, Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research, will issue the conferral of ASUJ degrees. Closing remarks will come from Dr. Myers, followed by the recessional by the Mountain Home Symphony Orchestra.

Serving as grand marshals for the event will be Dr. Rebecca Baird, ASUMH Faculty Senate President, and Dr. Robert Dyer, ASUMH 2015-2016 Faculty Member of the Year.
