A few area high school baseball teams wrapped up district play Tuesday.
Two Ozark County schools competed in the championship game of the Class 1, District 5 Tournament at Mountain Grove. Bakersfield fell to Dora by a final of 11-3. The Lions’ season comes to an end at 4-8. The Falcons improve to 11-5, and they’ll begin state tournament play Monday as their sectional opponent will be the winner of Wednesday’s District 6 championship game between Greenfield and Hurley.
Forsyth’s year ended in the semifinals of the Class 3, District 11 Tournament at Clever. The Panthers lost to Conway 7-2. Forsyth’s final record is 16-9.
Ava fell just short of a state tournament berth as they hosted the championship game of the Class 3, District 10 Tournament. The Bears were edged out by Mountain Grove 8-7. Ava wraps up the season at 19-6.
