Level three sex offender moves outside city limits

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the public a sex offender changed residence and has moved outside city limits.

Sheriff John Montgomery reports 55-year-old Peter Allen Tubbs relocated from 213 Baxter Avenue in Mountain Home to 51 Maitland Court in the Midway area. Tubbs is a level three registered sexual offender who considered a high risk to re-offend after pleading no contest to two counts of second degree sexual assault on a child in 1994. The offenses involved engaging in sexual contact with a female who was 13-year-old at the time.

Tubbs is currently not wanted by law enforcement. This notification is not intended to increase fear, but rather it is the sheriff’s belief that an informed public is a safer public. This information cannot be used to threaten, intimidate or harass registered sex offenders and citizen abuse will not be tolerated. Such abuse could potentially end law enforcement’s ability to do community notification.
