Carol Reinschmidt of Mountain Home, who was arrested after Mountain Home Police responded to a call Wednesday of a woman “jumping in and out of traffic” near the entrance to a business on Highway 62B/412, made a first appearance in Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday. Reinschmidt entered a not guilty plea to charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a defaced firearm and public intoxication.

The 48-year-old Reinschmidt was ordered by Judge John Putman to re-appear in Circuit Court on June 29th.

According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, when Mountain Home Police arrived on the scene, Reinschmidt raised her hands in the air exposing a pistol grip in her waistband and told the officers she had a gun. She was found to have a .22 caliber rifle that had been cut to an overall length of approximately 12 inches, with a barrel length of 7.5 inches and a pistol grip modified to fit the gun. According to court records, Reinschmidt is a convicted felon, having been found guilty of drug charges in 2016. The officers noted Reinschmidt was “heavily impaired” by alcohol.

Reinschmidt is an inmate in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $5,000.
