Bree Cannon elected state FFA vice president

Mountain Home High School 2017 graduate Bree Cannon has been elected State Future Farmers of America Eastern Vice President. Cannon’s election marks the fourth consecutive year a Mountain Home High School student has been elected to office with the State Future Farmers of America.

Cannon was elected Wednesday during the 90th State FFA convention in Hot Springs. Each year at the State FFA Convention, six students are elected by delegates to represent the organization as State FFA officers. Delegates elect a president, secretary, reporter and vice presidents representing the southern, eastern and western regions of the state.

Cannon is a member of the Mountain Home FFA Chapter. She plans to major in plant and soil sciences with a focus in agronomy at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Cannon is the daughter of Brooke Cannon and granddaughter of Brenda and Burt Cannon all of Mountain Home.

Joining Cannon at the convention were Bryce Rohr, 2014 State FFA President, Carson White, 2015 State FFA Reporter, and Macie Kelly, 2016 State Reporter, all Mountain Home High School graduates. Each of the former state officers had a key role in this year’s convention.

State officers commit to a year of service to the state and national FFA organization. Each travel to interact with business and industry leaders, thousands of FFA members and teachers, corporate sponsors, government and education officials, state FFA leaders, the general public and more. The team will lead personal growth and leadership conferences for FFA members throughout Arkansas and help set policies that will guide the future of FFA and promote agricultural literacy.
