Mountain Home woman charged with Battery

A rural Mountain Home woman 39-year-old Sarah Lynn Smith was arrested Sunday morning on a felony battery charge after a domestic violence incident. She remains in the Baxter County Jail on a $10,000 bond along with an additional charge of violating probation.According to Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery, a deputy was dispatched to a residence on Elm Tree Lane at 8:45 Sunday morning on a complaint a 73-year-old woman had been assaulted and injured by another member of the family.

An investigation determined the victim, who is wheelchair bound, was allegedly struck three times in the face by Smith and sustained injuries. Based upon the evidence,  Smith was arrested and taken into custody. She is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
