Red White and Blue Festival bigger than ever

The 18th Annual Red White and Blue Festival gets into full gear this week with the biggest fireworks show yet and a free concert featuring recording artist Aaron Tippin. The event runs from Thursday through Saturday.Serving as co-coordinators of this year’s event are Joel Bratton and Brian Plumlee.Bratton, who is in his third year with the event, says each year organizers strive to make the fireworks bigger and better than the previous year.

The Aaron Tippin free outdoor concert is set for Thursday evening at 7 on the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home with special guests The Steel Woods and Chris Bandi.

Bratton said funding from the city’s Advertising and Promotion Commission plays a key role with the overhead for the concert.

While new features have been added to this year’s festival, favorite events are back, including the annual parade, rodeo, turtle races and more entertainment on Friday evening.
