Grand finale fireworks wraps 18th RWB

The 18th annual Red White and Blue Festival concludes on Saturday but not before the granddaddy of them all fireworks display. Event organizers describe the show as the “biggest fireworks display in the state of Arkansas.” While the fireworks may be seen from almost anywhere in Mountain Home, the best view will be from the grounds at Arkansas State University Mountain Home. The fireworks are set to begin at 9:30.

But before the fireworks, the day is chock-full of activities beginning at 6:30 Saturday morning with registration for the Mountain Home Police 5K Run that starts at 7.

Check-in for the barbecue contest is from 7-8 Saturday morning, with judging at 5:30.

A pancake breakfast follows at 7:30, with the Twin Lakes V-Dubbers car show at 9.

The first part of the motorcycle show is set for 9:30 with kick stands up, with the show starting at 2:30 and judging at 3:30.

Registration for the truck show begins Saturday afternoon at 1:30, with judging at 3:30 and awards at 6:30.

The no charge kids zone continues from 3 until 9, along with ticket sales for the Jewels for You.

The schedule includes a military zone from 5 until 9:30.

Miss Arkansas 2016, Savannah Skidmore, will perform the National Anthem at 7.

At 7:15 Gracie Lane takes the stage, followed by Sam & Violet at 8:15.

Day two of rodeo action at the Mountain Home Saddle Club Arena is next door to all other activities on the ASUMH campus and begins at 8.
