A 52-year-old Mountain Home man, Darin Michael Decaro, has been arrested and charged with four felony counts linked to an illegal marijuana growing operation at a residence in rural Mountain Home.

According to the affidavit, officers from the Arkansas State Police and the Baxter County Sheriff’s office acting on a tip went to a residence on Longfellow Lane where they found a storage building immediately next to the residence equipped with multiple fan operated vents. Outside the building were numerous pots commonly used for growing plants.

Decaro was contacted by phone and asked to come to his residence. When officers explained it was believed he was the proprietor of an indoor marijuana grow operation, he allegedly advised that was the case and cooperated fully.

Inside the building officers located 19 marijuana plants, approximately 24 inches tall. There were also approximately 21 starter cups filled with potting soil.

The defendant took officers to several locations within the residence where he had hidden several bags containing processed marijuana, with weights varying from a half ounce to approximately four ounces.

Officers also located three long guns and an air rifle, which were seized when it was determined Decaro was a felon. Officers also located smoking devices and items used for processing and growing marijuana.

Decaro was charged with manufacture and possession of a scheduled VI controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and firearms possession by certain persons, all felony counts.

His bond was set at $2,500 and he was booked and released from the Baxter County Detention Center on Wednesday. Decaro will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
