“For those of you asking, I’ve been playing in bands and touring the world for 40 years, I have no immediate tour plans unless I get a wild hair up my a** or something or somebody really inspirational comes along,” Sixx writes in a Facebook post.

“So I guess I’m unofficially retired or maybe just expired at this time,” he adds. “Nice to give 100% of my time to my wife and kids.”

Motley Crue, of course, wrapped up their farewell tour New Year’s Eve 2015. Sixx:A.M. played a one-off show in Dallas earlier this year after spending 2016 on the road with Five Finger Death Punch and Shinedown.

While he won’t be touring, Sixx, who’ll be 59 in December, will certainly still keep busy: he says there’s new Sixx:A.M. albums arriving “soon,” and a new book is coming out this year. He’s also working with Netflix on a Motley Crue biopic titled The Dirt, as well as a play based on Sixx’s autobiography, The Heroin Diaries.

“Yup, I am retired,” Sixx jokes.
