Wolf House Site Manager to speak at Historical Society meeting

“”The Future of the Past: the Jacob Wolf Historic Site”” by Marlon Mowdy will be the topic of the monthly meeting of the Baxter County Historical & Genealogical Society Tuesday evening at 6:00 in the Knox Room of the Donald W. Reynolds Library. Mowdy is the Department of Arkansas Heritage’s new Historic Site Manager at the Jacob Wolf House Historic Site in Norfork. He began his new position on January 29th of this year.

Mowdy has over twenty years experience working for the State of Arkansas. He has worked for Arkansas State Parks, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and has worked for approximately two years for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He has spent his career managing and interpreting natural, cultural, and historical sites throughout the state.

Mowdy’s academic training stems from Masters degrees in Public History and Heritage Studies from Arkansas State University.He recently attended the Arkansas Natural Resources Council annual grant meeting in which he hopes to apply for grants to help further develop, manage, and interpret the Jacob Wolf House Historic Site.
