Capitol Records has plans to release various Steve Miller Band projects that the artist himself will oversee. In addition to music, the projects will contain film and video footage, photos, artwork, memorabilia, handwritten notes, private journals and more. The first such project will be announced soon.
The Steve Miller Band released their debut album, the psychedelic blues collection Children of the Future, on Capitol in 1968. They’ve released a total of 18 albums, plus various box sets and compilations, including Greatest Hits 1974-78, which has sold over 17 million copies worldwide. Miller’s hits include “Space Cowboy,” “The Joker,” “Fly Like an Eagle,” “Take the Money and Run,” “Jet Airliner,” “Abracadabra” and more.
When not on the road, Miller currently resides in New York, where he’s on the Board of Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Board for the Metropolitan Museum’s Musical Instruments collection.
