As Cook explains to ABC Radio, Creedence Clearwater Revisited’s concerts showcase the many classic songs his old group released during the late ’60s and early ’70s.

“We’re about celebrating and honoring the music of the original band,” notes Stu, adding, “It’s pretty much a show designed to take people [on a musical journey,] from right after the lights dim up until the lights come back on.”

While Cook and Clifford have had a notoriously contentious and litigious relationship with ex-Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman John Fogerty, Stu is quick to shower praise on Fogerty’s songwriting prowess.

“The catalog is strong, that’s for sure,” he says. “John Fogerty wrote some great songs for the band and…the band pulled them off, and they’re there for everyone to like. And then, we’re fortunate that people are still liking.”

Creedence Clearwater Revisited has now been together for 22 years, although the band recently underwent a significant lineup change. Founding singer/rhythm guitarist John Tristao retired this past year and was officially replaced by a Chicago native named Dan McGuinness. Rounding out the group are multi-instrumentalist Steve Gunner, a co-founding member, and longtime lead guitarist Kurt Griffey.

Although most of the music the band plays is at least 45 years old, Cook tells ABC Radio that the band’s fan base actually continues to grow.

“We have at least three generations of fans now,” notes Stu. “I think we’re picking up new fans faster than we’re losing old fans.”
