Wincraft RecordsAlthough Steve Winwood launched his solo career more than 40 years ago, the talented singer and songwriter has never put out an official live album as a solo artist. That will change on September 1 when Winwood: Greatest Hits Live is released.

The 23-track collection, which will be available as a two-CD and a four-LP vinyl set, offers career-spanning selection of tunes chosen by Winwood from his personal archive of concert performances. The album includes some of the best-known tunes from Steve’s tenure in The Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith, as well as many of his solo hits.

Among the tracks: “Gimme Some Lovin’,” “I’m a Man,” “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys,” “Can’t Find My Way Home,” “Back in the High Life Again,” “Higher Love” and “Roll with It.”

“I’m excited about the release because I have recorded every show for many years and so it evoked many memories of the performances and reactions from the fans over the years who have supported me,” says Winwood in a statement.

He adds, “The songs were chosen for being the ones most recognized throughout my career which have left an impression, and so I hope the record will be a souvenir that brings to mind happy memories of a good time experienced at one of my shows.”

The release of Greatest Hits Live coincides with the launch of a U.S. tour kicking September 1 in Santa Ynez, California. Winwood’s stateside dates include two previously announced appearances at the 2017 edition of the Gregg Allman-founded Laidback Festival: September 23 in Hartford, Connecticut, and September 24 in Wantagh, New York.
