Registration open for Fulton County Fair Youth Talent Contest

Registration is open for the Fulton County Fair Youth Talent Contest to be held July 22 in the Salem Civic Center on the Fulton County Fairgrounds. Entry forms are available online at Fulton County Fair , by picking them up at the fair office at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, or from any member of Zeta Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. All entries along with the $10 entry fee are due in the fair office no later than July 15th. The contest will be held during the Beauty Pageant and all talent contestants should be there by 7:00 that Saturday evening.

The talent competition has three age divisions. The Pre-Junior division will be for youth ages five to nine years of age. The Junior Division is for ages 10 to 15 and the Senior division is for ages 16 to 21. Pre-junior winners will not be eligible to advance to the district and state competition. All contestants must be residents of Fulton County or attend school in the county. Contestants can only enter one county fair youth talent contest during a calendar year.

The categories are Vocal Solo, Vocal Group, Dance Solo, Dance Group, Instrumental Solo and Variety. The variety category is acts that have multiple talents in them such as song and dance, vocal and live instrumental, lip sync, pantomimes, skits, juggling, ventriloquism, magic, gymnastics, karate, cheerleading or other talent that does not fit in a solo or group category. Contestants cannot enter in more than one category unless the 2nd category is with a group of five or more. Talent numbers should be no more than three minutes in length.

Rosettes and ribbons will be awarded to the top three winners in each category, in each age division. Winners of each category in the junior and senior divisions will represent Fulton County in the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in Little Rock in October. Winners of each category are not eligible to enter the North Central Arkansas District Fair Youth Talent Contest but the district talent contest will be open to anyone who competes in a county sanctioned Youth Talent Contest in the seven-county NCA District Fair area.
