Former Mountain Home resident 56-year-old Captain Mark Hollingsworth of North Little Rock has been promoted to the rank of major with the Arkansas State Police.
Major Hollingsworth is a 31-year veteran of the Arkansas State Police.
The nomination for promotion was presented for consideration to the Arkansas State Police Commission Thursday by Colonel Bill Bryant, state police director. The commission approved the promotion and two others during a regularly scheduled meeting.
Major Hollingsworth will continue in his role as commander of the departments Criminal Investigation Division.
