Mountain Home woman charged after bringing pot into jail

A Mountain Home woman, 33-year-old Mary Katherine Jackson, received a felony charge of furnishing, possessing or using prohibited articles Wednesday after she was arrested by Mountain Home Police for a warrant after a traffic stop. She was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center on a bond of $2,905.According to the arrest affidavit in the case, officers conducted a traffic stop early Wednesday morning. Jackson was the passenger and it was learned she had a warrant out for her arrest. Before being taken to jail she was asked is she had anything illegal and she answered “no”. After arriving at the jail, the female jailer took Jackson into the bathroom to change her out into jail attire. The jailer discovered a metal container in Jackson’s pants pocket that contained approximately .7 grams of confirmed marijuana.

She faces additional misdemeanor charges and is scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
