Missouri teen accused in beating death free on bond

(AP) – A 16-year-old boy ordered to stand trial as an adult
in the beating death of a man in their hometown of Jefferson City, Missouri, is
free on bond.KRCG-TV reports that Zacchaeus Silva was placed under house arrest after
posting a $100,000 bond.

Silva is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in
connection with the April death of 63-year-old Jerry Robertson.

Authorities said an autopsy on Robertson found he had died from blunt trauma
from what they suspect was a floor jack handle, much like a pipe.

A possible motive for the killing has not been released.
