In the probable cause affidavit, a Baxter County Deputy Sheriff reported patrolling in an area along Shadow Talk Trail where suspected drug activity was allegedly taking place. The deputy found several vehicles parked in the area. The deputy found scales similar to those used to weight methamphetamine and other items of drug paraphernalia in the 40-year-old Cross’ vehicle.

Stephen Fox, who lists and address in Pottersville, Missouri was sentenced to three years probation after pleading no contest to drug-related charges stemming from a traffic stop by an Arkansas State Police Trooper November 14th of last year. When the trooper was talking with Fox about problems with his vehicle, including a cracked windshield and non-operating brake light, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. During a search, both marijuana and methamphetamine were found.

The 53-year-old Fox was sentenced under provisions of Act 346, meaning that if he stays out of trouble during his probation, he can apply to the court to have his record sealed.
