An accident early Tuesday morning on Cannie Baker Road sent 19-year-old Alexandria Lauless of Mountain Home to Baxter Regional Medical Center. According to a report from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Lauless was transported by ambulance with a non-incapacitating injury. She was not listed as a patient at the time of this report.

Lauless’ vehicle was west bound on Cannie Baker Road when she lost control and ran into a culvert, striking a mailbox. The vehicle then slid approximately another 147 feet, coming to rest after hitting another culvert with enough impact to employ the airbags.

Two juveniles were also in the car. Both were checked by paramedics, and their guardians were notified. A written statement from one of them says Lauless was texting and driving.

The vehicle was listed as disabled and towed from the scene.
